Ed Griffin teaches creative writing in prison. He has written three novels: Prisoners of the Williwaw, Beyond the Vows, and Veto. Ed and an inmate writer, Mike Oulton, are each telling their prison stories in a soon-to-be released book, Dystopia. Ed is passionate about prison reform.

Ed believes that all the arts, including writing, should be encouraged in prison.  "As Aristotle said, ‘art releases unconscious tensions and purges the soul.’"

He is the founder of Western Canada’s largest writer’s conference, the Surrey Writers’ Conference.
